What is Git?

Git is a version control system for tracking changes in computer files and coordinating work on those files among multiple people. What is Github?

GitHub is a web-based hosting service for version control using Git. It is mostly used for computer code. It offers all of the distributed version control and source code management (SCM) functionality of Git as well as adding its own features. It provides access control and several collaboration features such as bug tracking, feature requests, task management, and wikis for every project.

Upload Project on GitHub

  1. Create an account on GitHub
  2. Install GitHub Desktop and Open GitHub Desktop and log in with your Github account
  3. Click on File -> New Repository
  4. Select the path of your project
  5. Click on Create Repository
  6. Click on Publish Repository

Create an account on GitHub

  1. Go to Github.com
  2. Click on Sign Up
  3. Enter your username, email, and password
  4. Click on Create an account

Open GitHub Desktop and log in with your Github account

  1. Open GitHub Desktop
  2. Click on Sign in to Github.com
  3. Enter your username and password
  4. Click on Sign in

Click on File -> New Repository

  1. Click on File
  2. Click on New Repository
  3. Select the path of your project
  4. Click on Create Repository
  5. Click on Publish Repository
